Lance has really been bit by the trials bug recently. Always wanting a dirt bike, but
being intimidated by jumping and racing off road, it was a natural choice to start on a
trials bike. This is a '76 TY175 I saw parked on the side of the road and picked up for
under $400! I'd never heard of them before I saw it, but my friend who's a trials expert
guided me through the purchase and modification. I rode it for a while but the rings
got cooked when I stopped premixing (pump went bad), so had to tear it down. In the
meantime I tore it completely down and repainted everything but the tank and
headlight bucket. Added a Domino throttle, Boyesen reeds, BJ Racing spacer,
re-ringed it, new top end bearing, repainted the engine, new Dunlop trials tires.
Now I'm on the hunt for more- if you know of a TY175 for sale, or have trick parts, let
me know.
